- Qatar is one of the world’s largest exporter of Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) with current capacity of 77 million tonnes per annum (equivalent to 3 million barrels a day of oil)
- Qatar Energy is in the process of dramatically increasing LNG capacity to 110 million tonnes (+43%) by the end of 2025, 126 million tonnes (+64%) by end 2027 and 142 million tonnes (+84%) by end of 2030. All phases of the expansion are currently expected to cost approximately $70 billion
